My V & R Map

What digital platforms are students currently using to develop their professional network?

My friends and I usually use LinkedIn for professional networks. Since LinkedIn allows users to input their career status and other professional identity, students use it to find jobs and connect with others. It is a great digital platform for students to build professional networks and connect with industry employers. LinkedIn also allows companies and organizations to publish job postings where students can directly apply for jobs on the LinkedIn platform using their uploaded resumes. Gmail is another platform that I would use for professional connections. Email seems more formal than messaging through any social media when communicating with professors or employers. Therefore, regularly checking the email inbox is necessary to respond to professional emails on time.

What could the student consider in expanding their professional learning network?

We learned new digital platforms from people around us; therefore, we may use any platforms for professional networks. As a student, when I considering expanding my professional learning networks, I would ask people around me (professors, classmates, and colleagues at work) for any digital platforms they recommend. The digital platform should be secure, easy to use, has adequate functions and numerous users.
